Vintage Mexican Hand Painted Willow Work Basket

Hand painted straw basket with fitted lid, purchased at the Mercadone Flea Market, Rio Grande Valley, Alamo, Texas about 25-years ago by the Seller. This flea market is not far from the Rio Grande. On the weekends, Mexican national vendors sold tourist-ware and folk art (back then anyway).

The basket is well cared for, the lid fits tightly. The straw is tightly woven, the unpainted straw interior has a slight waxy sheen. The peachy undertone is overpainted with colorful spring time flora. Colors are only slightly muted given its age and handling.

Approx measurements: 27" waist (circumference), 8.5" diameter, 7.5" tall (with lid).

Shipping continental USA only, via UPS or Fedex.
