Gorgeous antique French PUIFORCAT hallmarked sterling silver 6pc meat & salad serving utensil or implement set including a rare pele a tarte or pele a pastry, all with an ornate guilloche style engraved or machined decoration and all in fabulous condition with fitted storage and/or presentation box!  Not sure if the box is original but it works perfectly, a gilt embossed retailer label in the lid reads "Bijouterie Orfevrerie Joseph Coupris 1 Place De L'Ecluse Nantes".  All pieces bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver).  The silversmith marks are for the world renowned Maison Puiforcat (EP for Emile Puiforcat) and they date to the late 1800s.  Stunning, spoil yourself and your guests!

Very good to excellent condition.  Some light surface scuffing possible and there may be some age tarnish visible to the meat carving knife's blade (pre-stainless steel).  The tines and gigot ends are silver plated, not solid sterling silver.  The box appears original and is in fine shape.  See pictures for all weights and measurements.

Insurance has been eliminated as an option by ebay, forcing us sellers to either ship your items without insurance or assume that expense also. We always insure our items BUT, more importantly, pack them extremely well knowing that most are not replaceable. Our shipping days are Tuesday and Friday, paid items will be shipped on the first shipping day after payment is received (except when special circumstances exist). We prefer to use USPS whenever possible, and require all packages to be insured. If you prefer another method of shipment, please mention it. We charge only actual expense of shipment/insurance, except in the case of larger items which must have special wood crates built. Wood crate charge, when applicable, is a flat $35.00 in addition to actual postage & insurance charges.
