A very good, solid and sound copy. Minor light marks or blemishes only else a very nice copy. Title page laid on thicker paper with small marginal blank paper loss. Final leaf with marginal paper repair to blank paper. No portrait called for but there is a later (probably 19th.c. portrait bound before the title]. 

Overall a very nice 16th.c. English copy of this monumental work by Calvin. Presented in a rather handsome restored period binding.


 
Bound in full contemporary calf with central gilt tooled lozenge to the front & rear boards.

Nicely re-backed with raised bands, gilt décor & lettering to the spine.

A very attractive restored period binding for the discerning collector.
