About the Artist:

Both a self taught artist, and an 8 year veteran of a Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast, I brought my skill and my passion together to offer you an acrylic pin version of my original art piece of Dr. Frank N. Furter from the film. No other words required, as Frank is widely recognized as one of the iconic symbols of the movie.

Ken Kahle was born in Columbus, Ohio xyzpdq years ago. An only child, Ken spent a lot of time reading books and creating “escapism” from the every-day woes of life by writing short stories, crafting dioramas or making early attempts at drawing. His attraction to all things Creative included photography as well as pencil and ink drawing where he started to recognize the impact of composition and contrast, scale and shape (and discovered the hidden properties of glitter and rhinestones). He credits his High School photography teacher Mrs. Zimmerman for encouraging his interest in presenting things in unexpected, and unrecognizable ways. Thanks, Zim!

Ken has never formally attended school for Art (which would explain his first attempts at stippling using pencil instead of ink).  When his parents received their last assignment at an Air Force Base in Iceland, Ken instead chose to stay in Phoenix to study and pursue Theatre and stage directing which he has done all around Central Arizona. Because of that, Ken stayed put in the Valley of the Sun until 2014 when he relocated to Orlando.  Over the years Ken has had multiple showings of his art at First Thursdays at the Orlando Museum of Modern Art, SOBO Gallery in Winter Garden, LOTS of annual State Fairs, one Super Bowl event, and has even sold several of his sculptures & Atomic Space Ray Guns made from found objects on the internet!

Drawing, sculpture and painting has always been a priority and a passion in Ken’s daily life. Ken’s basic art credo is as follows; “Art is like life; some people stand by & observe it; others make it more. Some dream about it; others LIVE it more; and many others forget… then suddenly realize its been passing them by.  All of that is my Art”.

Much of Ken's art can be seen online at Instagram, Etsy, Facebook and Pinterest  (Usually as Ken Kahle or Art That You Need).
