Photograph Notes: Quex House was built in 1808, and was recased with two wings added in 1883. Constructed of brown brick with ashlar dressings and porch, under a slate roof. Inside is the original Regency staircase and some fine 19th century panelling. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1094671 Quex Park is a 19th century manor house in an estate of some 250 acres. The park is home to the Powell-Cotton Museum which has collections of stuffed exotic animals from Africa and other African artefacts, European firearms, European and Asian cutting weapons, European and Chinese porcelain, and important archaeological finds from Thanet and East Kent.
