This is rare antique piece made in England during the Victorian Era to be exported to France. It comprises of 3 leather note pads with the name ‘Renée’ engraved and silver painted…each of them reads to the spine: ‘DÉPENSES PERSONNELLES’, ‘COMPTES DE CAISSE’ and ‘VISITES - ADRESSES’ (Personal expenses / Cash account / Visits - Addresses) which fit in a leather and sterling silver case. The first one has no sheets, the second one has lots of sheets, one is written and it has some cut sheets and the third one has less sheets, two are written and others were cut. This piece was sold in Paris by the famous retailer Boudet: 143 & 144 Palais Royal (Paris) as reads to the bottom of the case. The elegant sterling silver mount is fully hallmarked ‘Lion Passant’(Sterling silver), ‘Leopard Head’ (London), ‘B’ (year 1877), ‘Queen Victoria’s Head and 'T.W.M.' (Silversmith's initials)…the front also reads ‘Renée’. The leather has normal signs of use and age; the silverwork is in perfect condition ...The case measures 4 3/8” long, 2 5/8” high and 1 1/2” thick, the pads are 3 7/8” long by 2 1/2” wide…total weight 152.7 grams.
