FINALDESIGN01-1

~ Welcome to William Sharpe Antiques ~

Here today for your consideration we have this superb pair of Georgian sterling silver open salt cellars, made by Edward, Edward Junior, John and William Barnard of London, c-1834. The set is of cauldron shape with highly detailed lion head/paw feet with blue glass liners, being of exceptional quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (a couple of minor depressions, nothing too serious). The set features a well executed but fading crest to one side, with the hallmarks about 90% overall. The blue glass liners are well fitted and without damage. A very high quality set for the fastidious collector.

Each cellar stands 4.5cm tall and has a maximum diameter of 7.5cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at 450gms with the silver accounting for a very impressive 313gms of this.

Sterling silver offered at William Sharpe Antiques is original and authentic, showing signs of use over its life. Unless expressly stated above, all pieces are free from major structural damage. However, normal signs of use including shallow depressions, fine scratches, and minor pattern and hallmark wear should be expected. All pieces (unless expressly stated above) have undertaken a very light polish with respect to the original patina, and a decision for further polishing will be left to the new custodian. I have a large network in which I can currently source silver, so if there is a special piece you are looking for, please don't hesitate to get in contact, either through eBay or through my Facebook page.

Please note that items listed (unless otherwise advertised) are antiques and are not brand new. As such, evidence of use should be expected and returns will not be accepted on the basis of typical age-related wear and tear that can be seen within the above photos, which form part of the item description.
