This rare cradle dates to 1810-1830 and was made to be given as a christening gift.  The cradle was molded in two pieces and the halves pressed together, then the rockers added prior to firing.  The outside of the cradle is attractively formed with Rockingham glaze decorating the top and sides.  Measuring 4 ½” long by 3 ¼” in height this cradle is nicely molded and decorated.  When found, these cradles usually have damage from having been played with by children.  This is in near mint condition with only minor glaze loss on the top of the rockers with no other damage or repairs.  Very few of these cradles have survived in any condition and are highly collectable.
