Vulcain were the first watchmakers to manufacture a mechanical wristwatch with an alarm. 

The watch is a manual wind and there is a quite an unusual method of winding the watch and alarm and also setting the watch time and alarm hand, which I will reveal when sold. ( It's quite easy when you get used to it )

The alarm on this watch is very loud and and goes on for quite a while, so there will be no chance of oversleeping!

The case is 14ct Solid Gold, brushed on the sides, and polished on the bezel, lugs and case back

This watch has a name on the case back as shown on pic, which reads LOUIS BRUNKE and date 12.25.55 ( American way of dating ) so it shows it was presented to this person on Christmas day 1955 in America.

When I purchased this watch many years ago I was looking for the best condition watch I could find, so I overlooked the inscription on the back as no-one sees it anyway. I think of it as a bonus really, as it dates the watch exactly as it was presented!

The case back is also stamped 14K and also between the lugs above 12 is stamped W 14K GOLD.

The watch comes on a brown leather strap, and it also comes with a Solid 14Kt Gold Vintage Watch Buckle that I sourced after I purchased the watch which suits it well. It is stamped HADLEY 14K PATD 62325. Even the pin on the buckle is stamped 14k.

The white honeycomb dial is in very good overall condition, as is the glass.

The watch measures 34mm across without the winders and it has gold baton indexes with the words VULCAIN CRICKET under the 12 Position and SWISS under the 6 Position. The Minutes and Hour Hands are Black and the Seconds and Alarm Hands are in Gold.

The watch comes in a nice Vulcain Box ( not original ) c/w Cushion, and white outer box. Both have some marks here and there from storage, but they have done their job well in protecting the watch.

All in all this is a very nice original Vulcain Cricket watch, and it is working perfectly, and keeping time. I have not seen another in this  condition.
