Photograph Notes: I'm sorry but 1) What is it? 2) Is it connected with the canal, the history of the area, or indeed anything? 3) Why has it been sawn in half and what does that signify? 4) Has it been purposefully designed to collect and hold rainwater? I don't want to scoff but this seems to me to be a perfect example of poor public artwork (pointless, no explanation, poorly sited and likely to bring public art into disrepute or ridicule). Rant over.
