José María Dávila Condemarín ( Trujillo , 1799 - Lima , 1882 ), Peruvian writer , politician and diplomat . He was Minister of Foreign Relations or Chancellor of Peru in various periods, and Minister of Government of Peru , as well as rector of the University of San Marcos .

Biography

Established in Lima, he studied at the Seminary of Santo Toribio and continued them at the University of San Marcos , but interrupted them when the Liberating Expedition arrived in Pisco , presenting himself there to offer his services, being assigned to the secretariat of San Martín (1820 ). Following the Expedition, he moved to Huaura , participated in the march to Lima and signed the Act of Declaration of Independence of Peru (1821). He attended the battle of Junín as Senior Officer of the Ministry of Government and was appointed Senior Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1843). During the government ofRamón Castilla is granted the position of Minister of Government, Public Instruction and Charity (1847), he is elected dean of the Lima Bar Association and later assumes the General Post Office Administration (1849). Elected rector of the University of San Marcos (1854).

Starting in 1858, he established himself in Turin as Charge d'Affaires and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Sardinia .
