In 1988 I put dreads on a troll doll. It was a generic troll with pink hair.  I showed it to some friends and they all wanted one. I made a bunch and actually sold every one of them.  I started traveling with the trolls I made, and everywhere I went people would buy them.  When December came, I could not keep up with demand.  I turned every troll body I could find into an original, authentic, one of a kind, and soon to be famous… Rasta Troll.  Handcrafted from available Troll dollsthe first wave stormed the swap meets of Southern California. Only after 10’s of thousands of Rasta Trolls were made, did Success allow the San Diego Skankin’ Troll to be createdThis Rasta Troll was only produced for a short amount of time, and less than 10% of Rasta Troll Dolls are of this type. In 1993, Thomas Dam had his copyrights restored. This ended all unlicensed Troll Doll production.  In the first 5 years of their amazing popularityapproximately 100,000 Rasta Trolls were created in a small garage in San DiegoCaliforniaIt has always been a labor of loveand the Rasta Troll will continue to live on with your love.
