This handcrafted teapot was
designed by Paul Cardew and produced in his pottery shop in Devon, England. Paul
is famous for his collection of limited edition teapots, which are sold
all over the world.
He has been a designer for
Portmeirion, Royal Doulton and the Tea Council, and was also associated for six
years with the Walt Disney Company.
Cardew teapots carry on a 300-year-old English tradition
started, some say, by Josiah Wedgwood.
In those days ‘one cup’ teapots were often produced as
convenient samples for salesmen to use.
Today, like all Cardew ceramic teapots, they have become
collector’s favorite.
This ‘Toy Box is a vintage Paul Cardew collectible.
