I'm selling brand new adapter boards for SGI Fuel computer - RED PCB, version 4, one-piece design.

The board lets you use ordinary PC power supply in place of genuine SGI product (made by NMB, Sparkle or HiPro).

Fuel uses power supply in different standard, even though the connectors are the same - the signals are not compatible.

Original power supplies are very expensive and not reliable - all of them break over time.

This board lets you use cheap and readily available PC power supply instead.

It also generates fan signal so that Fuel can continue working with environmental monitoring enabled, as a special feature - if your ATX PSU provides such a signal - you can feed it into the board in place of the generated signal.

You will also find two LED diodes - standby and power that help determine whether the power supply provides power.

The board also has a 'force start' button - when held it will force start of the power supply and the machine allowing you to investigate your problem even if the machine won't turn on using 'power' button.

The requirement is that the ATX PSU needs to provide minimum 25A on both 5V and 3.3V rails (27-30 recommended).

The adapters are my own original design, with the initial ideas done by members of nekochan forum (forum for SGI users).

Buyer will receive ONE(1) adapter set (2 boards - large main 24 pin board and smaller (L-shaped) 12V board with 6-8 PIN sockets).

Manual with troubleshooting guide is available here
(in case the link doesn't work, my website is printed on the adapter, it's very easy to find the manual there)

One last thing. I received information that there are other adapters available on eBay.
I do not endorse the other adapters, the seller has never consulted with me.
There is a possibility these adapters work, but to my knowledge these are much simpler, do not provide troubleshooting buttons, LED's.
They look exactly like my first ever design from over 10 years ago.
Buying my adapter, you're taking advantage of 10 (TEN) years of experience of me making these adapters, I have pulled hundreds of hours into research and improvements, which you can witness, this is a version 4. My adapters have come a long way from being a simple bundle of wires...
I have also noticed these other adapters generate excessive fan speed signal, which may or may not be risky to the machine. The worst case scenario would be Fuel trying to lower all the fan speeds because the PSU fan is reporting to be spinning to high - this is a risk of overheating.
