Heavy Cast Iron Royal Mail Post Box

This box design was used from the 1980s onward by Royal Mail and is a cut above the rest ! It is more substantial than other post boxes weighing in at approx 21kg!

Unlike a lot of Reproductions out there this is exactly as the original as its cast from a period 1980s box . The steel back box , Chubb lock and unique keys , weight and size all are exact to the original . 

Please check the sizes as many others are slightly smaller /  lighter in weight without all the extras we offer here and keys are alike.

This can be post mounted with one of our locally produced post stands or you can simply drill and hang it on a wall through the steel back box. Many clients build this type of box into a wall or gate pier, the choice is yours.

Included with the post box is a Chubb lock with 2 individual numbered keys that are unique to fit the individual box sold.  These are individually fitted and each varies from one box to the next.

The measurements are approximately: 58.5 cm x 25 x 37 cm. 

The opening for letters is the standard size for the UK postal system which is: 19.5 cm x 5 cm.

Solid pressed metal 'collection plate' and a "private box " tag are supplied free of charge with this post box.

As with many hand constructed items each will have minor differences which will not effect the performance of the post box but may slightly differ to the images if closely inspected .Often basket clips may be in different positions bolts change due to availability etc so please take this into account if you are expecting the product to be the very one in the photo as its just not possible to photograph every single one.

Dispatches




Our last dispatches during the week are on Fridays if

received before 10.00 am.




Orders received after that will be dispatched on Mondays.




Please note that there are no dispatches or deliveries

during the weekend or on bank holidays.

Courier

Service




You will receive a text or an email from the courier

company  informing you when your parcel

will arrive.




With this service you can authorise the courier to leave

the parcel with a neighbour or in a safe place – at your own risk.




If no-one is in to receive your parcel a re delivery will

be attempted.  It is your responsibility

to be in to receive your goods.




When attempts have been made to deliver your parcel and

you are not in, a re delivery charge will be incurred.




Haulage

Company




Larger items will be delivered by a haulage company on a

pallet service, which will be delivered to the road side by tail lift.




Sub-contractor drivers are used and are not obliged to

carry anything off the pallet or carry items onto your property.




The haulage company 

will contact you directly to agree a delivery date with you.




It is your responsibility to be in to receive, check and

sign for your goods. Goods MUST be checked in front of the driver immediately

and sign for ‘in good condition’.  This

is your opportunity to ensure you are happy with your order.




If there is an issue please call us before returning any

goods.




Note the

signature will void a later claim for Damage in Transit so it is vital you

check your goods right way before signing.

Important




You MUST be in to receive your goods on the date agreed

with the haulage company.  If you are not

in, you will incur a re delivery fee for the haulage company to re deliver your

goods on a specified and agreed day.




International

Buyers




If applicable, international buyers are responsible for

the tax and duty in connection with any purchases, please check with the relevant

authority in your country.




Surcharges




Highlands, Isles, N. Ireland and remote locations around

the UK, may incur a surcharge.




Due to the complexities of transport company’s own

delivery rates, this payment will be requested after your purchase as we will

not know the surcharge cost prior to your purchase.  If in doubt please call us.

If the item is not required, you can of course send it
