For sale here I offer an outstanding pair of Period Arts and Crafts era, hand-forged, nickel-silver plated andirons.   I can see no manufacturer's identification, each piece being marked "CC1A" and "CC1B" respectively.

This is a case where attention to details matters.  I've seen many lesser versions of this design sell in the $300 to $1200 range.  Upon inspection you will find that those copies are shorter, lighter, new or newer and simpler in design.  Compare those designs to these andirons......

These authentic, vintage, "of-the-period" andirons sport large solid brass 8 1/2" diameter Tulip design Medallions mounted on heavy silver-nickel plated, hand forged bases. They stand 28" tall and 13" wide, and weigh 14 pounds per side, 28# for the pair.   They are antique, vintage, period pieces which belong in a good restoration or realistic period design decor.  They are well designed, well proportioned, well executed and in good condition.   While some of the nickel-silver plating has worn off, they have developed a gorgeous patina, rich in character, to take its place.  Examine the pictures closely and you will discover many areas of superior design and execution when comparing to similar sets.  This set will ship disassembled and will require a simple reassembly using a 1/2" wrench or socket to replace the one bolt that holds the leg on.

FYI - for comparison, I found three comparable listings on-line asking $1800.00, $3800.00 and $6800.00.    I will price these to sell and with reasonable shipping.  And they are already packaged and ready to ship.  You will often see these priced as "pick-up only" and are out of luck if you don't live near them.   If you are looking for a nice vintage andiron set, please consider these.  You won't regret it.

Lastly, I list to sell. If you have use for these andirons and hesitate at the price, make an offer.  All I can to is say "no" or counter (which I rarely do).   While you are at it, please take a minute to view my other auctions.  Thanks, Steve
