HMS Vulcan (1937) was a trawler used as a depot ship for Coastal Forces, then serving as a repair ship for a minesweeping flotilla, being paid off in 1947. HMS Vulcan was involved in lifesaving after the Air Raid on Bari and had some mustard gas casualties as a result.

This 27cm x 32cm framed double sided typed religious humorous lent resolutions list was compiled by the Captain of the ship “ Lt F.R Jakeman RNVR”, which is signed by himself and witnessed by a S/Lt Jenkins RNVR.

It’s dated and stamped 8th April 1946 whilst serving in the Mediterranean during WW2

The compiled lent resolutions include “Non-imbibing of Inebriating Liquors”, “Maintenance of a frugal diet” and “Early retirement to ones scratcher”.
