A perennial herbaceous medicinal and ornamental plant native to the coastal areas of the Cape in South Africa. It is known for its many healing effects in folk medicine, and its leaves make an excellent-tasting medicinal tea. Its aromatic leaves are excellent ingredients for potpourri.
