Vintage 1982 (first year!) Gibson ES-335 "Dot" Reissue

These are a true classic - Gibson got it's mojo back pretty hard in the early 80's.
These killer 59-reissue 335's were some of the first guitars to roll out of the newly christened Nashville plant, and boy were they incredible.   Highly consistent and very faithful recreations of the holy grail 1959 ES-335 dot neck. These early 80's Dots are now 40 years old and have aged very gracefully. They've become highly desirable and sought after by players and collectors alike.

This example is in excellent condition and is 100% original with the original red lined plush hard case. It has it's original Patent Stamped T-top pickups which sound incredible.   A unique fact about Gibson guitars from this era - during the span of a few years during the early 80's, the luthiers in Nashville were "naming" guitars - always a female name, and always inscribed in the control cavity. We seen this numerous times on 335's and also a few Les Pauls from the era. This one has the presidential seal of approval as it was named "Marylin" at it's birth with the name written in pen in the bridge pickup cavity route. A very cool and unique part of Gibson history!

A one-owner instrument since new, this guitar was played lovingly and exhibits minor sings of playwear. Most notably some arm-wear in the clear coat in the upper bout above the basside f-hole.

The woods on this guitar are absolutely premium. Gibson spared no expense in the re-introduction of these historic reissues!
