The Heptameron

of the tales of

Margaret Queen of Navarre

Newly Translated from the authentic text with an essay by George Saintsbury, M. A. Privately Printed for Members of the Aldus Society. 1903, first edition, thus. Limited to 1250, numbered and registered copies, of which this is stamped 885. Complete in two volumes. Bound in three-quarter leather, over blue cloth, with four raised bands and gilt tooled spines. Edition de Luxe.

Bindings are both fully intact, and the leather is complete however somewhat faded on spines, as usual. Covers and extremities lightly rubbed. Interior bindings are tight and square; pages clean; engravings printed on Japanese Vellum paper, so the yellow tint shown in the picture gallery is true to their original color. Overall a very nice set in very good condition.
