KENNY ROBERTS YZR500 G.P. RACER MODEL KIT

An original Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha YZR500 G.P. Racer Model Kit #1401 from 1983.  Import by Model Rectifier in Edison New Jersey.  Made in Japan, never opened still in plastic wrapper.  As with all Tamiya models, the detail is second to none and is not designed to the beginning modeler.  This model has not been available to over 20 years, now is your chance to build a true legend.

History on the bike:

Kenny Roberts dominated the GP racers for most of the 1980 and was the one to beat. The YZR500 works bike attracted attention from around the world due winning 500 GP. The four cylinder water-cooled 498cc engine, and rear Mono-shock suspension system. The YZR500 debuted at a World Grand Prix road race in 1980.
