DESCRIPTION

This is a gorgeous vintage formal gown.  There are no tags on the inside, and I believe it may have been custom made.  I acquired it with a collection of dresses from the 50s, so I believe it dates from then as well.  The main body of the dress is made out of a red orange satin brocade.  The dress has a fitted nip waist, and there are pleats around the waist, giving the skirt a full cut.  On the side seams, there are very wide attached satin ties that cross over in the front and tie in the back, giving the dress a cummerbund sort of look around the waist.  The dress closes with a metal zipper down the back.  It also comes with a matching belt made out of the satin brocade material.

SIZING

There are no size tags on the dress, but I believe it would best fit a modern size Small.  The actual measurements are as follows:

Bust: 17.5" across (35" around)
Waist:  13.25" across (26.5" around)
Hips: Full and roomy
Length:
41.5" from the shoulder to the hem

Note: These are the actual measurements of the garment, so please leave yourself room for comfort of movement. All measurements were taken with the item laying flat. The flat measurements were doubled to give an approximate measurement around.

CONDITION

This dress is in very good vintage condition.  However, I did notice a slight bit of fading to the satin ties near the tips (see last picture).  This is a minor flaw.  The dress is still stunning and totally wearable as is!

Clothing Condition:

The large majority of the items in my store are vintage and/or pre-owned.  I will list any major flaws in the item description.  However, most vintage clothing has been around for several decades or more, and it may have some minor snags in the fabric, the occasional loose thread or other minimal signs of wear.  Vintage items may also have raw seams that have not been serged.  By purchasing, you are accepting that these items are used and may not be 100% perfect. However, if you feel I have overlooked a major flaw, please let me know!
