Montblanc  donation pen Sir George Solti Fountain pen Special Edition

The design of this exceptional special edition pays tribute to both the pianist and conductor Sir Georg Solti. The jet black precious resin with the platinised accessories pays tribute to the pianist: the clip symbolizes the keyboard of a piano, while the rings on the lid reflect the piano strings.

The artist’s signature on the body honors director Sir Georg Solti. The radiant red is reminiscent of his handwritten comments on musical scores. The fine engraving on the rolled 18-karat gold nib completes this masterpiece perfectly.

Sir Georg Solti is considered one of the greatest opera conductors of the 20th century. His rendition of Richard Wagner’s “Der Ring der Nibelungen” continues to count today as a shining moment in music history. Born György Solti in Budapest in 1912, the artist began his musical career as a pianist, making his first appearance at the age of twelve. His debut as an opera director was in 1938.

In 1961 he began his time at London’s Convent Garden Opera House and in 1972 he became a British citizen and was knighted by the Queen.
