I have had this laptop since 2011 and it works good, just slow compared to today's standards.  I upgraded it to Windows 10 but it's stock other than that.

the battery lasts maybe 5-10 minutes if it's unplugged.  I was using it as a controller for my 3d printer so I kept it plugged in.  The only minor inconvenience is that the lid close sensor is sticky so if you move the lid too fast it will think it's closing and put it to sleep
