Photograph Notes: This is the skeleton of a heart urchin, also known as a sea potato. From similar images I think it is Echinocardium cordatum (see ://marbef/data/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=124392). The urchin lives under the sand, feeding through a tube to the surface. There were several skeletons here, of different sizes, filled with sand. They are quite fragile. The first one shattered when I dropped it.
