OLD SWISS COSTUMES PAINTED FROM REINHARD GENEVE TESSIN BERN APPENZELL ST GALL TOBLER

This is a marvellous set of 12 poster stamps (n. 601 – n. 612) edited by Swiss firm Chocolat Tobler. The set represents series n.51 published by Tobler in the 1920’s.

The stamps with also descriptive text on the back in four different languages viz; English, Italian, German and International language IDO (a pioneered predecessor of the Esperanto) were inserted inside the chocolate plates between the wrapper and the aluminium foil for children to collect them.

The collection is complete which add to the extreme difficulty of having all of them stay together after almost a century of age. The stamps are made of thin paper with dimension 1.6 x 2.2 inches.

This article is in good conditions as illustrated in the picture shown.
