Doxa Watches Print Advertising 1947 Du Magazine Swiss Luxury Precision French

Translates "Joy in the heart Doxa on the wrist"

From a collection of Du Magazines preserved from a Rare Book Store in Boston. Du Magazine was an art & Culture magazine based in Switzerland. It began in 1941 during the peak of World War 2, and as a result many of their advertisers came from within Swiss borders, namely Swiss Luxury Precision watches. By the onset of the 1950's, Du transformed into what would be more aptly described as the Swiss version of "Life," and as a result, the luxury watch advertisers moved on, and they were replaced by traditional middle-class mainstream advertisers. Vintage Du's are very rarely made available, and many of these full page print advertisements for the world's most elite watches are one of a kind as a result.
