A beautiful vintage inlaid card holder from Brazil.  It has its orig. label on the back that reads "Artefama S.A. Rua Baro da Rio Branco, 456 SAN BENTO DO SUL S.C. Made in Brazil C.G.C."

It measures 10" long x 5-1/4" wide x 3-1/4" high and top of the box lid features inlaid wood cut in shapes of card suits (Club, Diamon, Spade and Heart).  The lid opens to revel two slotted areas to place two decks of playing cards.  The corners are joined together with a miter cut and a wood spline to join the two pieces, so you know this a quality piece.  There is some minor cracking on the joints, which you can see in the pics. but it is expected for a piece of this age.

The lid features inlaid types of various Brazilian woods and features topography depictions of Brazil with a small crucifix on the top of one of the hills.   Upon opening the lid, there's an area for a paper pad to be inserted to keep score while playing various card games.  There's also an indentation to hold a pen or pencil on the "desk" of the lid.  It's a very well-made vintage piece!
