This buy it now auction is for the companion piece to a similar figure which I sold last month.it is a most interesting object which I believe may well be Mayan and possibly very old it being of pre-Colombian type but I can not substantiate its age or origins

The item itself is made of Terracotta and depicts a rotund man hands together holding a cup.He has a highly decorative shaped head painted in brown with symbols and lines and has other shapes and detail elsewhere,

It’s purpose might be a jug,vase or more likely some kind of vessel,

Condition is good but there are scratches and wear commensurate with age,

Measurement are;

Height 19.5cm (7 1/2 inches)

Width across at widest point 9.8cm (3 3/4 inches)
