Photograph Notes: A large crowd gathered and lined the High Street in Tring to greet and cheer the Paralympic Torch Relay. Unfortunately the Torch was very delayed in getting to Tring - by nearly two hours. It was scheduled to arrive at Donkey Lane at the western end of Tring at 23:09 precisely. This precision turned out to be laughable, as it finally arrived at about 1.00 am ! The crowd remained remarkably cheery despite the extensive wait though. This photo was taken a little before midnight with the former Rose & Crown Hotel (now sadly closed) in the background. The (at this time unlit) beacon (see [[[3105640]]]) and the church (see [[[3105636]]]) were directly behind the camera.
