Art Deco Yardley Enamel Flying Pegasus Horse Compact/Carryall
In the 1930's the carryall was introduced to women's fashion accessories. Some had chain handles, while others, like this one did not. Marked Yardley New York, this gold-tone compact carryall has black, possibly deepest blue, enameling of a flying Pegasus intaglio décor. Called a Quadruple, the interior contains the original pressed face powder remnants, rouge remnants and a money clip. The lipstick, mirror and perfume bottle are missing. The thumbpiece houses a coral cabochon which fastens the vanity case tightly shut .
Scarce, and very desirable art deco piece, but does has its flaws. There are small dents on it and scuff marks appropriate with age, but no damage to enamel. We leave any cleaning to new owner, and the compartments do have cosmetic remains in them. Measures 4.75 inches by 3 inches.

All domestic orders are either shipped first class, parcel post or priority mail with tracking. Insurance is included on all purchases over $50.00 in value.
