We Have Always Lived in the Castle

by Shirley Jackson

First edition, first printing, signed and inscribed by the author

New York: The Viking Press, 1962. First edition, first printing. Signed by Shirley Jackson and warmly inscribed to a former owner on the front free endpaper. Bound in publisher's original crimson and cream-colored cloth with crimson spine lettering and topstain. Very Good+ with bumping to corners throughout, slight tannign to spine cloth at ends, light bleeding from cloth onto bottom of textblock edge, pages tanned. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light dust soiling, light wear, light creasing and a small nick to the front spine fold about an inch and a half down. A classic horror novel that inspired the recent film directed by Stacie Passon. Signed first printings are rather uncommon.
