A somewhat larger, and reinforced, 1880 cover sent from San Diego, California to Zurich, Switzerland. A pair of #161 ten cent Jeffersons and a #179 five cent Taylor are tied to the cover with several partial datestamps. The extreme left datestamp shows a clear date of August 4, 1880, and the first word "SAN". Above the middle stamp the letters "DIEG" are visable from another partial datestamp.

The pair of #161s and the #179 are sound stamps, without faults, and appear to be VF.

The Zurich backstamp is dated August 25, 1880 (25VIII80).

The overweight cover is reinforced with a cloth inner lining, as seen in several photos above.
