This listing is for a Meyer branded alto saxophone mouthpiece. This piece is a bit of a mystery to me because the Meyer name is in a different position on the top of the body from where it usually is (more in the middle, rather than just above the shank). It also doesn't appear to be stamped into the material, but rather embossed on top. It does however have the "Meyer lapped facing" diamond logo stamped on the table. It has been suggested to me that this might be a transitional piece of some sort, but I'm not sure from when, or if that is even the case. I took a small sample off the shank with very fine emery paper and can confirm that it is hard rubber, not plastic. It has deeply scooped inner side walls (much more so than the current crop of Meyers). It has a medium round chamber. It is indicated to be a 5M, but the tip opening measures a little small at .068".

This mouthpiece is in good used condition. It has some light nicks and scratching on the rails, but no significant chips. There is also some light scratching on the baffle area. There are no tooth indentations. The rubber is just slightly faded. It has been cleaned/sanitized.

Please feel free to message me with any questions.

Thanks again for looking!
