This listing, MY NUMBER 13210555, is for ONE (1) Lot of Ten (10) authentic, original, circulated condition Lincoln Wheat Back Pennies/Small Cents from the Year 1955 as business struck and issued by the Official United States Government Mint in Philadelphia. Multiple FORMS OF BLEEDING, BLURRING, DOUBLING, GHOSTING, SHADOWING ETC...can be seen on the obverse of each of these anomaly specimens under intense light with a 10X Loupe. They are conveniently called "Poor Man's Double Dies". This affordable substitute for the Bona Fide 1955 Double Die Penny, commonly manifests varying degrees of a Doubled "5" at the end of the Year 1955 as well as blurring of "IN GOD WE TRUST" and "LIBERTY". On some specimens, the digit/character devices even bleed into the rim of the coin.
This "Poor Man's Double Die", listed by me here, is really NOT a doubled die coin at all. But, it IS the next best thing! This common 1955 Small Cent ANOMALY is the product of not a defective die, but rather a defective striking process at the mint, referred to as "Machine Doubling". Machine Doubling occurs when a planchet and/or a die vibrates during the coin striking process. The result of that defective striking process is the anomaly coins you will receive here. Your lot of Ten (10) coins will be assembled randomly from my bin.
