RARE Original US radio show, vinyl 3-LP set

<< $4.50 STANDARD DOMESTIC SHIPPING>>

ALBUM INFO:

This is an original 3-LP set, issued by Westwood One, of their "Superstar Concert Series" radio show, which features portions of two STEVIE RAY VAUGHAN & DOUBLE TROUBLE concerts recorded live at Tingley Coliseum, Albuquerque, New Mexico on Nov 28, 1989 and at McNichols Arena, Denver, Colorado the day after, on Nov 29.

This is WW1 Show #90-36, broadcast for the weekend of September 8-9, 1990 which was quickly produced as a tribute to SRV who had died just 2 weeks prior to this broadcast (on Aug 27). It had originally been broadcast as an "In Concert" show in April of 1990.

Westwood One's 'Superstar Concert Series' was a 90-minute, weekly national radio show that was broadcast on radio stations in the US who paid for the subscription. These shows feature portions of professionally record concerts, as well as national commercials.

The sides are paired up as follows: Disc 1: 1/4, Disc 2: 2/5, Disc 3: 3/6

These radio shows were available only to radio stations who subscribed to Westwood One and were not sold in stores.

PRESSING INFO:

This is the original US pressing from 1990 as issued by Westwood One. Each show was pressed on 3 vinyl LPs and pressed on high-quality translucent vinyl for superior sonics (hold it to a bright light and you can see through it).

Each show comes packaged in a black lift-off LP box with the Superstar Concert Series color photo of a large outdoor audience and lightning surrounding the stage.

Included is a cue sheet that lists the contents, commercials and duration for each segment for the DJ to be able to properly cue up and end each segment during the broadcast. (see photo)

Each disc is in its original clear poly inner sleeves.

ADDITIONAL INFO:

LP was part of a personal collection that had been in storage of 30+ years. The disc was cleaned using a VPI Cyclone which works into the disc’s groove to help remove deep, settled dirt and other surface marks, allowing the grooves to breathe for better stylus contact.

GOLDMINE STANDARD VINYL CONDITION CODES:

NEAR MINT/EXC: A nearly perfect record. Disc shows no obvious signs of wear. A 45 RPM or EP sleeve should have no more than the most minor defects, such as almost invisible ring wear or other signs of slight handling.

An LP cover should have no creases, folds, seam splits or other noticeable similar defects. No cut-out holes, either. The same for any inserts, such as posters, lyric sleeves etc...

EXC- minus: The disc shows some very slight signs of having been played, with very little lessening in sound quality, and barely noticeable, extremely isolated but light surface noise. Labels have minimal spindle marks. The cover and packaging might have slight wear but excellent aspect overall.

VERY GOOD+: A VG+ records show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.

Record surfaces may show some signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experiences. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are "OK".

The label may have some ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. The center hole will not have been misshapen by repeated play.

Picture sleeves and LP inner sleeves will have some slight wear, lightly turned up corners, or a slight seam split. An LP cover may have slight signs of wear also and may be marred by a cut-out hole, indentation or corner indicating it was taken out of print and sold at a discount.

VERY GOOD:  Goldmine price guides with more than one price will list Very Good as many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc. Surface noise will be evident upon playing, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and fade, but will not overpower the music otherwise. Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as with light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound.

Labels may be marred by writing, or have tape or stickers (or their residue) attached. The same will be true of picture sleeves or LP covers. However, it will not have all of these problems at the same time, only two or three of them.

VERY GOOD minus- : Any wear n' tear seen in a VG is more enhanced in a VG- disc but not quite to a G+/G rating. The record still plays through without skipping, so it can serve as filler until something better comes along. But it has some obvious surface noise and groove wear. The labels maybe worn, with ring wear, heavy writing, or obvious damage caused by someone trying to remove tape or stickers and failing miserably. A VG– cover has ring wear to the point of distraction, some discoloring/fading, at least 1 seam split and may have even heavier writing, such as, for example, huge radio station letters written across the front to deter theft.

GOOD/GOOD+: Good does not mean Bad! A record in Good or Good+ Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping. But it will have significant surface noise and scratches and sometimes visible groove wear.

A cover or sleeve will have seam splits, especially at the bottom or on the spine. Tape, writing, ring wear or other defects will start to overwhelm the object.

POOR or FAIR: The record is cracked, badly warped, and won't play through without skipping or repeating. The picture sleeve is water damaged, split on all three seams and heavily marred by wear and writing. The LP cover barely keeps the LP inside it. Inner sleeves are fully seam split, crinkled, and written upon.
