JVC HR-S3900U Super VHS S-VHS Video Recorder VCR with remote *NEEDS SERVICING*

This auction includes the VCR unit, the functioning remote controller (batteries not included), and the instruction manual.  I bought this VCR brand new, but it was many years ago, and the unit currently has a problem loading and unloading cassettes.  In most cases, when you try to insert a tape, the VCR thinks on it for a few seconds and then ejects it back out again.  However, on the rare occasions that you do get it to accept a tape, the unit seems to work well.  For video testing purposes, I had to take the top cover off and manually manipulate the mechanism to get my tape to set and eject properly.  After I did that, I was able to test playback, record, fast-forward, and rewind, primarily using the S-video input (from a DVD player) and output (to a Hauppauge capture card).

This item is being sold "for parts", but it seems that it could be returned to full functionality by someone who knows how to service it properly.
