ANTIQUE ART GLASS PURPLE RUFFLED THORN BASKET STEVENS & WILLIAMS ENGLAND

I first thought this was a Nailsea piece, but a fellow eBayer corrected me that it is not Nailsea.  Upon further research, I now see it is a Stevens & Williams piece.

A very interesting piece!  Light Purple center that gets darker toward the ruffled edges.  If you turn the basket over, there are iridescent blue hues on the ruffles.  There are "flecks" of silvery looking material all over the inside of the basket *in the glass*.  The handle is odd shaped and has decorative glass specks that stick out 3 dimensionally that you can feel (rounded little balls).  Handle also has a design to it, as well...sort of like a tree branch.  The bottom of the basket is white like Milk Glass.

"Today because so few pieces of Nailsea Glass actually were made in Nailsea, England, they are valuable and have become prized possessions."
