On offer is a superb vintage authentic NAVAJO hand wrought .925 sterling silver four (4) split band wave cuff bracelet adorned with modern stylized petroglyph motifs on each side. This cuff bracelet is hallmarked .925 for Sterling, and with the conjoined HB of renowned award winning silver master HARVEY BEGAY (deceased 2009).

Harvey Begay was the son of legendary silver master Kenneth Begay, considered the father of contemporary Navajo jewelry. A biography and examples of Harvey's work and awards etc. appear on page 75  of American Indian Jewelry 1 by Gregory Schaaf (see photo). We believe this bracelet was created circa 1980.

This impressive cuff bracelet was expertly crafted in the traditional NAVAJO technique with attention to detail and is in very good vintage condition (please see ALL photos for an accurate detailed depiction). Both decorative ends of the bracelet have deeply stamped designs with sandblast texturing.

Overall, the cuff bracelet measures approx. 1 1/2" tapering to 5/8" wide. The interior circumference is approx. 6 3/8" TOTAL including 1 1/8" opening. It has a bit of flexibility for careful adjusting and weighs a very hefty 53.4 grams - 1.715 ounces.

This  museum quality vintage NAVAJO .925 sterling silver cuff bracelet expertly crafted by the highly collected artisan HARVEY BEGAY would make an outstanding addition to any Twentieth Century Native American Silver Jewelry, Harvey Begay or Historic Cultural Arts and Crafts collection.

We have been involved in the design and creation of contemporary jewelry at the undergraduate and postgraduate level since 1967. In 1975 we opened a gallery of hand wrought fine art contemporary jewels and have since handled thousands of unique, one of a kind and limited edition pieces crafted predominantly by American artisans with a special emphasis on Native American Art.
