Hold to the now, the here, through which all future plunges to the past.

Here we offer a wonderful facsimile of the 1922 first edition of the classic modernist novel, Ulysses, by James Joyce, published originally in a 1,000-copy limited run in Paris by Sylvia Beach for the Left Bank bookseller, Shakespeare and Company. This modern recreation of the first edition bears no publishing credit and is customized with a facsimile of the original first edition fold-over wrapper printed on coated heavyweight bond. The polymer coating on the paper ensures the brightest colors and sharpest prints, as the ink sits atop the paper rather than being absorbed into the fibers. The facsimile wrap even includes a facsimile bookseller label of the legendary Sunwise Turn literary salon and bookshop in NYC, the only US bookseller initially willing to sell the controversial masterpiece. One of the books targeted by the Nazi book burnings, Ulysses is rated the best novel ever written by Modern Library.

In mint, unread condition (please see pics). 732 pages. The book measures approx. 9 x 6.5-inches.

This faithful facsimile will make a wonderful addition to your collection or a very thoughtful gift!

This title was burned by US postal authorities, and it was also burned in the Nazi bonfires. To see our entire shelf of banned books, please click HERE.
