Here is a beautiful Saturday Evening Girl's Paul Revere Pottery large platter or tray decorated with a ship in a colorful landscape medallion that is not quite centered on a two tone blue ground. This is from the set made for Edith Brown, one of the principals of the pottery. The provenance is as follows: Edith Brown, on her death to Edith Guerrier, on her death to her secretary Margreta Hughs, thence by descent. Marked with the ink-stamped Paul Revere seal, EG for Edith Guerrier, and dated 1928, presumable a later addition to the set. It measures 15 inches by 11 3/4 inches and 5/8 inches high. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, firing flaws, or repairs, just a couple minor pits in the glaze. A nice big piece of SEG with amazing history from the famous Arts and Crafts New England art pottery.
