A bit more sophisticated than Petula's previous albums. The first single was The Cat In The Window (#26) from 1967 then The Other Man's Grass Is Always Greener (#31 A CRIME!) followed into 1968. Both albums contained a more adult contemporary sound and most of it produced by Sonny Burke and Charles Koppelman except for The Other Man's Grass which was the only Tony Hatch produced song. More standards this time such as, The Last Waltz, Smile and I Could Have Danced All Night. The self titled "Petula" album which also became known as "The Pink Album" had probably the best ballad she ever did. Kiss Me Goodbye written by Les Reed & Barry Mason was perfectly suited for Petula Clark peaking at #15 on Billboard. The follow up single Don't Give Up (#37) with Tony Hatch and then wife, Jackie Trent, as writers and Tony as producer was the last top 40 hit from that magical combination of singer and songwriter/producer. Late 1964 through 1968 would be Petula Clark's greatest run of hits in the U.S. CD and jewel case in excellent condition.
