Breitling Aerospace Navitimer 80360

Perhaps one of our favourite Quartz pieces ever produced, the original Aerospace Navitimer is a thrown back to all things cool in the 80's. Originally launched in 1985, it was a truly modern take on the Pilot's watch, integrating both analogue and digital displays to provide all the information you could ever ask for with functions including a perpetual calendar, a chronograph, and a second time zone from its Breitling 56 calibre, a quartz movement based on the ETA 988.332 with roughly 4 years of battery life.

Our favourite part of the watch is the titanium bracelet that uses thin titanium rods to form the connection between each link, and the drape on the wrist provided by the small links is wonderful. It was mounted to a 40mm titanium case that is impossibly thin, though still feels substantial on the wrist and anything but delicate.

So how does it work? The top screen displays which mode is currently active (1/100th chronograph, alarm, countdown timer, second time zone, and calendar) and the lower screen shows data relating to that feature. Spinning the crown cycles through the modes while pressing the crown activates the chosen function (such as starting the chronograph). Simples.

This particular one-owner piece was purchased in London in 1991 and presents in excellent vintage condition. The case shows barely any marks, with a small stain on the left side being the only real sign of wear. Please see images for full condition details.

The original bracelet would suit roughly an 8in wrist in it's current length.

All functions operating as they should, and keeping COSC time. Was looked after by Monards and Watches of Switzerland across its life.

Comes with a Breitling service box, original signed papers, instruction manual and Breitling cleaning cloth.

Examples of these rarely pop up that are not two tone, include the bracelet and papers, and in this condition. They're as as rare as Hen's teeth. Don't let it slip by.
