Jeep Timing Chain Cover Seal Installer & Alignment Tool

This special tool is needed to align the timing chain cover on the Jeep 4.0L engine and others (AMC 242 / Renix, Jeep 4.2L). The timing cover bolts are a slop fit and if the front crank seal is not perfectly centered to the crank you'll have an oil leak.

But why pay $100 for an old rusty tool that you only need to use once? I've 3D printed this for my own personal use and it works perfectly.

This version of the tool was developed to be able to install the seal into the cover as well if you do not have a shop press or other means to install it properly - hammering on the seal itself will undoubtedly damage it. This tool can also be used to tap in the new seal while the cover is installed. Be advised that as a result this driver will probably be damaged by hammering since it is softer to protect the seal itself (again, it's meant to be a one time use tool). If you plan to assemble a lot of these and want spares I can quote you a bulk order.

I also sell just the cover centering version of the tool if you don't need a seal driver (example shown in the last photo). Click Here

Note: The Miller tool is also intended for installing the seal itself, but it's much easier to press the seal in or use a seal driver before installing the cover rather than installing the cover bare and then using a bolt etc. to pull it in towards the crank. The miller tool is supposed to include a "draw screw tool" but nobody has these anymore because they're a waste of time.
