Welcome to my Store, this listing is for a vintage and preowned Cast Iron piece I just founded in an Estate Sale, is very heavy at passing 5 lb in weight, I purchased it thinking that was a piece of Pottery, but sound like cast iron and pottery is no so heavy, was made like a Planter but maybe is also a Door Stopper, but then is all covered in Pottery/Plaster? and then painted over, is just a mystery piece, the tall oval shape planter have the shape of a sitting in her nest pretty HEN, with lots of details, maybe was remade of made like that by one of those wonderful Folk Art Artist from Georgia, is perfect for you Kitchen Utensils but is too heavy for this Grandmother to handle, is 10.5 inches high in the front side from bottom to the top of the Hat, 8.25 inches long from side to side in the center of the oval shape and 4.75 inches deep from the front of the Hen to the backside, have lots of hand applied colors and details, perfect Primitive kind of piece, check the pictures and let me know if you really know something about it, sold as is.
