These coins have full year dates ranging from 1927 to 1938 and are guaranteed to each be from 86 to 97 YEARS OLD! The lot you receive will be randomly selected from my bin which has a mix of Coins in the Very Good(VG) to Very Fine (VF) Condition Range.

I define FULL DATE as having all four of the year digits clearly visible to the naked eye.

These Iconic 5 Cent Pieces are nicknamed "Buffalo" Nickels, but they are officially known as Indian Head Nickels. Even the Buffalo Nickname, is a misnomer, since the Animal depicted on the reverse is ACTUALLY a PLAINS BISON and NOT of the BUFFALO Species at all! The misname was purportedly first used by French Trappers/Fur Traders and Pioneer British Colonists in the mid 1600s. For lack of the precise term, the Colonists/Trappers resorted to the next best thing. They equated these never before encountered, heavily furred Bovine Animals to the species with which they had the most familiarity from their home and other lands, the common Buffalo or Water Buffalo. Obviously, the name stuck!
