This piece was hand woven on a simple loom made from a frame. Different wools were selected for colour and texture.
It was made around 1971-1973 in Aberdeen. The material is wool or perhaps sometimes a wool blend.
The colours were 'all the rage' in the early 1970s.
It would make a textile panel for the wall, or be made up into a cushion cover, (the original idea).
Measurements, (approx):
42 - 44 cm in length, 30 - 31 cm in width plus wool ends, knotted at the warp ends.
It can be pulled to shape, a little.
