It has been fully tested and it fires normally it was tested a compatible camera Canon Rebel XT. It uses 2 AA batteries and the battery compartment is clean and free of corrosion, it opens and closes normally. The body in general is in great shape (See pictures). The battery contacts, that are on the inside of the battery door have been cleaned and they make good contact. The hot shoe contacts and base are in great shape. The lock mechanism works well.
No batteries are included.
