This is a rare and wonderful Art Deco - Victorian Polo Motif Locket Pendant Necklace with images of Polo including the mallet and ball in Royal Blue Enamel over a Gold Filled repousse engraved locket. How rare to find a Polo motif locket. The wonderful blue enamel sets off the Polo Mallets and Balls to great effect. It opens on the reverse to reveal the photo or memento compartment. The locket hangs from an antique gold filled chain with a barrel clasp. The special locket dances delightfully around the neck and creates a conversation piece to be passed on for generations. The locket dates to circa 1880 - 1920. The locket pendant is 1 1/4 inches (33 mm) long including the bales. Without the bales it is 1 inch (27mm) long. It is 7/8 inch (21mm) wide. The chain is 17 inches long. The locket and chain are gold filled. The locket is 24mm (1 inch) not including the bales. With the bales it is 35mm (1 3/8 inches) tall. There is a surface chip in the enamel at about 1 o'clock. Please see the photos for the condition.
