Up for sale is an ORIGINAL, HISTORIC, ANTIQUE map from the town of ROCK RUN (Valley Township) and KEMBLESVILLE (Franklin Township), both located in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This map has property specific detail of the town in 1883. The map also shows the burrough of WINDSOR (Upper Uwchlan Township) and the burrough of BYERS STATION (Upper Uwchlan Township).

This map measures approximately 15 x 20 1/2 inches, including the border area.

This map is from the Breou's Official Series of Farm Maps of Chester County, Pennsylvania. "Compiled, Drawn and Published From Personal Examinations and Surveys" by W. H. Kirk, & Co., Philadelphia, 1883. On these maps of the townships, boroughs, and leading villages in Chester County, will be found a careful delineation of properties therein located. They break down the lots and farms and show the names of the owners who held the deeds for each property.

Maps this early and showing this much detail are hard to find. The map has fantastic hand coloring to it. Lots of color coding to represent various attributes Brick Dwellings, Frame Dwellings, Brick Stables, and Frame Stables. Different shapes are also used to reference stone dwellings, brick dwellings, frame dwellings, stone barns or outbuildings, brick barns or outbuildings, and frame barns or outbuildings. The map also notes the location of the United States Postal Offices. Map is blank on the reverse side.

This map is generally in Good- Condition. Some browning, foxing and staining at the edges.  The map also has some other small tears, chips and creases around the edges, but none of them affect the map. Some other dings and stains here and there.

This map is a great piece of Pennsylvania history and with the beautiful hand coloring, and it will look very nice when framed.   Please note that while I have included a picture of the Title Page of the Atlas this map was taken from, it is NOT included in the sale, as it is a reference piece to determine authenticity for the other maps. I would be happy to include a copy if requested.

Please see my store for other great items.  Inventory R-14
